Comparison of overall serial changes of C1-INH activity between the survivors and non-survivors in the refractory shock group. During the clinical course, C1-INH increased significantly in the survivors (p < 0.0001) but did not increase significantly in the non-survivors (p = 0.0690). The difference between these two groups was statistically significant (p < 0.0001). The normal range of C1-INH activity values is 70–130%
