CLP polarized PE cells initially to the M1, and subsequently to the M2 phenotype. PE cells were harvested from mice at 6 or 20 h after sham or CLP operation (n = 4 or 5 for each group). The mRNA expression levels of the marker enzymes iNOS (a) and ARG1 (b) were analyzed by real-time PCR. The fold changes are expressed relative to sham-PE cells harvested at 6 h post-surgery.
